Innocent man shot at South Alabama bar seeks help with extensive medical bills

A man who police say was an innocent shot at a Mobile bar is looking for help paying his medical bills.

A. GoFundMe created to support COdy Goff, who was shot Sunday.

At Hayley’s Bar, Alleged shooter Michael Sullivan argued with a woman and allegedly tried to shoot someone. Police said Sullivan shot Goff instead of hitting the intended target.

Sullivan was arrested.

As a result of the conflict, Goff was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. According to a GoFundMe organized by Cody’s sister Candice Goff, Cody has already had two major surgeries.

One of the surgeries resulted in the removal of a foot and a half of his large and small intestine, and the other was the ligation of his iliac vein due to severe damage.

“I know this GoFundMe will only scratch the surface of his medical bills, but we’re hoping this can help him get through the next few months as he tries to figure out what happens next,” Candice wrote. “Cody has no insurance and we don’t know when or if he will be able to return to work.”

Cody is also still at risk for infection or sepsis, but has shown great progress and resilience compared to his sister.

As of this publication, they have raised over $7,500 of their $30,000 goal.
